Description: MOBY replacement cruise via R/V K.O.K: The ship departed Snug Harbor, Honolulu Hawaii on the morning of January 21, stopped for three bio-optical stations on the way to, and at the MOBY mooring site but severe winds prevented recovery of MOBY218. MOBY218 was recovered in the morning of the 22nd and the deep sea mooring / MOBY weather station, LMOB201 was replaced with LMOB202 in the afternoon . The ship returned to the dock late on the 22nd MOBY218 and LMOB201 were unloaded, MOBY219 and more equipment and personnel were loaded, and the ship departed on leg two for Lanai. MOBY219 was deployed on January 23 at the Lanai Mooring site and a bio-optical station was conducted. HRA Captain Steve Juarez and Mate Jan assisted Mark on the 28th for an initial set of diver reference scans on MOBY219. |
