Description: MOBY-L214: 06-07 May 2013 MOBY Maintenance Cruise: | ||
Details: Monday we took photos, a set of dirty calibrations and received a scolding from a fishing boat for tying up to the buoy. We also installed a couple of "MO" signs to the weather buoy so all the fisherman will know where they are. I did some troubleshooting on the weather buoy as well, trying to get an updated program on the Campbell data logger and download some data from the Seacat. I would say the trouble shooting was partially successful. I modified the Campbell program so that the modem stays on longer and so we can update the logger from land until I get the issues worked out. It is collecting data but I need to modify some sensor calibration numbers due to new sensors installed but old numbers in the program. Tuesday we did a cleaning, clean calibrations and reinstalled the anti-foulant tubes. Steve also took photos of the upper 3/4" shackle on the weather buoy. It sure was nice out, there with about 30 Pacific Bottlenose dolphins hanging around with a couple of good size one and a set of mahi mahi and schools of smaller fish, flat calm with no current. We should be charging the divers on these trips. I straightened the bird spikes on the Es collector but it didnt look like they were in the field of view. There were a set of AFTs in the van that were replaced by Steve on L212 where the copper was corroded, I brought them back to Oahu to be refurbished. |
