Description: MOBY-L332: 6 Oct 2022 MOBY/MarONet Maintenance Cruise: Andrew and I went to Maui to service the MN buoy site. The crew was Captain Lee, Jeffery, William and Benito. When we first arrived at the Maronet01 buoy we attempted to make contact to the upper controller with the Campbell Loggernet program through a cable connected to the terminal port of the controller. We were able to view the Campbell data logger information in Table1 of the software and see that the voltages on the upper battery were approximately 2vdc. The upper battery was replaced with an AGM battery we had shipped over and brought along with us. After the battery installation we again viewed the voltages on the Loggernet software and the voltages were in the 13vdc range. Mark was contacted and was able to establish communication with the upper controller through the cell phone link and check that everything was being initialized as expected. We cleaned and refilled the collectors and washed excessive booby guano off the solar panels. The divers noted that the mid arm collector was rotated 90º to vertical. It would be difficult to determine when this happened but there should be a significant change in the data. There are some photos that document this collector orientation. We have photos of the MN mooring chain and we stopped by the MN/274 buoy and everything appeared fine with photos as well. | ||
