DAY 1 EMAIL from Mike

Subject: pre-M265 RS04 day01

Hi Steph,
Since it looks like I've never turned on the RS04 before,
I thought I'd take some test scans with RS04cfg001 before it get's
re-configured for MOBY265.
So, I pointed all the bare bundle-fibers into the 12 inch Spectralon sphere,
and collected 3x sig/bac pairs via the Oriel incandescent lamp,
and 3x sig/bac pairs via the Oriel Ne wave-cal lamp.

There is one log sheet at /ftp1/Mike/L271/rs4cal/doc/
There are 12x *.fits files at /ftp1/Mike/L271/rs4cal/day01/

I confused by the spectral distribution of the RS via incandescent lamp!
Does this look like other RS data we've seen?
MF

Subject: STOP

I figured it out -
there was a short-pass filter on the incandescent lamp!
I'll take some more scans without said filter
(and try to figure out what filter that is!)...

Subject: Take II

Ah, that makes MUCH more sense!
The last 3x sig/bac pairs are of the un-filtered incandescent lamp!
The first 3x pairs were incandescent lamp + "SP" filter -
which I think is Carol's short pass Semrock (though I'll have to dig to verify that).

The middle 3x pairs of the Neon lamp did not have said SP filter...

There is now:
an updated log sheet for day01 @ /ftp1/Mike/L271/rs4cal/doc/
and 18x *.fits files @ /ftp1/Mike/L271/rs4cal/day01/

NOW, I can put number tags on the fibers - which is what I originally had setup to do...

DAY 1 EMAIL from Mike ... RS04cfg001 / pre-MOBY265, Solis about

Hi Steph,
One last thing I just looked at on the RS04cfg001 / Pre-MOBY265 config:
the Andor Solis software has a section under the "About" tab
to look at the internal camera config info
<attached: 20180418_RS04cfg001-pre-MOBY265_Solis_about.jpg>

There is one small-kine problem:
the bottom of the camera housing has a sticker that says
DU934P-BR-DD, CCD-19348, Apr-2016,
but the Andor Solis About says the "Instrument serial No = 19347".

So we may have the camera housing swapped between the RS3 & RS4...
The good thing is that both these cameras have "Broadband VUV-NIR Wedged" windows,
according to the Andor "CCD Performance" doc.

Maybe Ken/Art can check the RS3 internal cfg info via Andor SDK software,
and see if it's "Instrument serial No" = 19348 ?
