Hawaii-2016-05 experiment with new MOBYrefresh red Resonon - RS03 cfg002

First set of data before shipping to Miami to check for movement after shipping.

Problems seen (and solved):

  1. Camera housing which reads CCD-19347 but the Solis software read the serial number of the RS03 camera today as CCD-19348. Mark thought that maybe the camera housings were switched between 47 & 48
  2. Track moved but 2-4 pixels from the Resonon data to the Hawaii data, interestingly the wavelengths did not change by a huge amount. Making this dataset really cfg002 (cfg001 is the Resonon data)

DAY 1 EMAIL from Mike

Hi Steph,
I think I have an EASY task for you!
I took a few signal scans and a couple background scans with the RS03cfg01 before it was FedEx'ed to Miami for Ken & Art to work with. Only the bare Leoni fiber bundle fibers were used as collectors. They looked at a gray plaque illuminated by the sun - kinda: the plaque was WAY to bright in the sun, so I moved it into the shade at the door-way of the first high-bay here at Pier 35 (closest to the only AC power outlet at the bathrooms).  I collected aux data via the LabJack U6, which should be the same setup as the last data from the BS02.  And I took a few photos of the experimental apparatus.  All this and one log sheet scan are at /ftp1/Mike/HI-2016-05.

The idea is to pin down the Fraunhoffer lines for comparison with scans after shipping to Miami (bet you knew that!).

One interesting thing to-be-straightened-out is: The Andor camera with the RS3 has a serial number on the bottom of the camera housing which reads CCD-19347 (which is noted in the Resonon pre-delivery doc), but the Solis software read the serial number of the RS03 camera today as CCD-19348.  Mark thought that maybe the camera housings were switched between 47 & 48 - the housings had to be removed to machine out the side of the housing to access the cooling fins for the MOBY water housing...  I'll be trying to turn on CCD-19348 and see if Solis sees it as 19347 (some day soon).

Aloha, MF

P.S. Here is a nice photo Eric took of a sad Snug Harbour MOBY site last week: <attached: 2016-08-16_SnugHarbour_sansMOBY.jpg>
