MOBY265 experiment with new MOBYrefresh - MOBY265 deployment - BS03cfg005 and RS04cfg002 - deployed on 2 May 2018

Fifth in-water data set with MOBY installed in MOBY265 and deployed on 2 May 2018. No UV ghost in this BS or RS. No predeployment data collected. Art is not able to talk to the RS and Mark could not fix this before the buoy went in the water. First data sets with HDF formated files. MOBY265 only have 2 lower batteries in it to account for the increased wieght from the BS/RS assembly (photos). So turning on the BS/RS is a hands on affair right now. So far batteries are looking good.

On July 7th MOBY went on a walk-about that ended in MOBY being to far from the mooring to be towed back. So on July 11th MOBY was recovered and returned to Pier 35. MOBY266 will be deployed once M264 is recaled.

Change on 3 Dec 2018 with the track positions for the BS. Mike says... "It is clear during postcal data collection the track defs for the BS Es and LuBot are the reverse of the RS. So I have fixed the BS track defs. I have adjusted the track positions in the table and reprocessed the data.

FYI: Yesterday Mark fixed the wiring mixup on the BS03 for pre-M265, where, during M263 the 0V vs 5V shutter close vs open analog return was mixed up for Trk#9 & #10.

BS03cfg005 = The BS03 in M265 received no pre-deployment cals, and the last notes I have from post-M263 cals said BS03cfg004 - which was when I ran it via an external Andor power cube.  So, I think M265 BS03 should be cfg005, which would include repairs Mark made to the internal BS pwr sup (i.e. gain=4 went bad @ post-M263 cals) and the removal of the removal of the M63 ND filters and irises.

RS0?cfg002 = The RS04 got 1 day of pre-M265 pre-cals as RS04cfg001, so yes, I think the assembled instrument in M265 would be RS04cfg002.

Pre deployment EMAIL from Mike

Hi STeph,
That pre-M265 arm-measurement "doc" I sent you yesterday was improperly named -
it should have been "20180416_pre-M265_arm_measurements.jpg", not ...pre-M263...
<attached: 20180416_pre-M265_arm_measurements.jpg>

Here are some scans of misc optics Mark has been installing in the splitter,
showing the part numbers and batch numbers - when I get a minute I want to
put these into a spreadsheet!

There was one re-built FO for pre-M265 MOS LuTop,
here is the 1mm Polymicro fiber used in that:

Post-deployment email from Mike

HI StePh,

The BS03 in M265 received no pre-deployment cals, and the last notes I have
from post-M263 cals said BS03cfg004 - which was when I ran it via an external Andor
power cube.  So, I think M265 BS03 should be cfg005, which would include
repairs Mark made to the internal BS pwr sup (i.e. gain=4 went bad @ post-M263 cals)
and the removal of the removal of the M63 ND filters and irises.

The RS04 got 1 day of pre-M265 pre-cals as RS04cfg001, so yes, I think the assembled
instrument in M265 would be RS04cfg002.

I have not yet tried to look at the HDF file (aside from with Sean briefly yesterday),
and I'll have to study your M265 parts tables for the BS & RS,
but today I want to finish getting a fiber strung between the laser-in-the-cal-van
and the tent ...before Ken flys out of here tomorrow...

Still can not get data on the RSG. It will turn on and then stop working. Art tried everytime. Ken suggests trying to get data with someone out at the buoy and Art turning on the power.

DARK/BACKGROUND NOTE: For the MOBY262 I had gotten the dark and backgrounds mixed up. For this data set and all going forward we will swtich back to the correct names.

Dark, Backgrounds, Ambient definition table for Resonon data collection
Name Camera (internal shutter) Track (external shuuter) Other
Backgrounds closed open
Darks opens closed
Ambients opens open lights/lamp off or lamp Occluded

This filenaming convesion now matches the MOBY team's normal understanding of Darks and Backgrounds.
