Hawaii-2016-03 experiment with new MOBYrefresh red Resonon - RS01 cfg001

First set of data.

Problems seen (and solved):

  1. Track definition: Looking at the between track darks on Page number 2.03, starting at figure 19, as you scroll through tracks 1 - 14 you will see the between track dark valleys all line up at track 1 but by the time to you get to track 14 the valleys are off from pixel 50 to pixel 1000 by 5 pixels. Normally I chose the track definition using only one cross track pixel. But this shows I should proabably look at more pixels because the track definition for UV pixels might e too close to the edge of the track.
  2. Off CCD laser light: On day 2 Mike shot in laser light including off CCD lasers and saw some pretty interesting stuff (Page Nums 3.01-3.03). The off CCD was taken at the highest laser power and 60 secs but we don't have an absolute cal on the laser so there is no way to know how big the problem is. Still working on that one.

DAY 1 EMAIL from Mike

Hi Steph,
It took a little longer than I had anticipated, but today I got the RS01cfg01 mounted, the fibers numbered & jigged, aux running, and I swapped integrating spheres back to the Spectralon with the Oriel incandescent lamp. So I collected one set of sig/bac/amb!  Probably good for track definition... As you might guess I called this HI-2016-03.  Tomorrow should be laser lines.

DAY 2 EMAIL from Mike

Hello again,
I shot laser lines into the RS02cfg01 tonight. I started with some blue off-CCD wavelengths, which seemed to cause, well, quite a mess.  Between 550 & 913 nm things seemed much more orderly. After I turned everything off I realized I probably should have run some off-CCD lines into the near-IR...  Oh well.  There were 23 laser lines, with sig & bac scans, and a pair of amb scans at start & end.  I think that came out to 48x *.fits files, plus 1x aux*.txt, and 2x log sheet scans.
